Stained Glass, 3 Feet x 3 Feet x 10 inches

This piece is inspired by the brutalist movement. I wanted to take the harsh nature of brutalism and make something that was delicate and soft in structure, a direct juxtaposition of what one would think of brutalism to be. This piece is made using stained glass, wire, copper tape, and solder. Wire wraps around the stained glass both to assist in keeping the structure and to instill movement in the piece. The spiral shape is hung on two square shaped portals, making the piece look as if it is jumping through them. The work itself is hung by wire on the ceiling.
